FBCW Dance...For His Glory
Home
Dance for His Glory is a ministry of First Baptist Church
Woodstock. We are committed to teaching children the
fundamentals of dance and movement in a Christ centered
environment. The ministry’s goal is to glorify God through the
celebration of dance and to share the gospel of Jesus Christ to
children, parents, and relatives by word and deed.
Class instruction ranges from 3 years old and up. We offer
classes in ballet, tap, and jazz taught by instructors with 20
years of dance experience.
Our focus makes the difference. While we have weekly
classes, a year-end recital with wonderful costumes, and fun
just like other dance programs, FBCW Dance does it all in a
Christ-centered environment. The instructors share the love of
Jesus with the children as much as their love for dance. We
take time in each class for a short Bible lesson and prayer while
making sure that each child receives the attention and love they
deserve.

The church is closing immediately due to weather conditions. There will be no dance classes today Tuesday March 2, 2010. Updated 10:15 am 3/2/2010.
Please see the forms and information page for the Recital Schedule.
Summer Camps will be held June 21-25 and July 19-23. Registration forms and information will be available in April.
Registration information for Fall 2010-2011 will be available beginning in April.
Please check back then for Registration Instructions and Dates.

Before Class
Please arrive a few minutes early so you can prepare your child for
class. Take them to the restroom before class and have them
dress in the required dancewear and shoes for class. There is no
gum, food, drink, or toys allowed in the dance room. Please wait in
the Parents Viewing room or the B210 Hall and have your child
remain with you until the teacher calls for her class. There are
counseling offices in the main B220 hall way, across from the
elevator, and we ask that you keep your children with you at all
times and the noise levels down.
At times, teachers may ask parents, siblings and friends to be an
audience for part of the class. Unless invited, please remain in the
Parent Viewing Room or the B210 hallway. Please do not visit with
teachers before or after class. They have a tight schedule and only
have a couple of minutes between classes to prepare for the next
class. You can check the bulleting board in the B220 hall outside
B220 or email fbcwdance@yahoo.com with any questions you have.
Dress Code
Each dancer is expected to wear the required Dancewear and
Shoes and hair in a bun (hair pulled away from the face). The
required Dancewear list can be found on the “Forms and
Information Tab” on our website.
Class Structure
The curriculum is set for each individual grade and class level and is
taught by godly, qualified instructors. Since all teachers and
classes are different, the actual structure of classes will differ.
Although the teachers teach the same technique, they as
individuals, have been blessed with their own unique teaching
styles. All of our teachers are qualified to teaching secular studios,
but they desire to work in a Christian environment and teach
children of God’s love and encourage them to grow not only
spiritually but in their ability to dance.
Tuition Payments
For accounting purposes, please always use the FBCWDance
Tuition Envelopes. Fill out front of the envelope completely when
making your tuition payments. Put payments in the Wellness and
Recreation Drop Box located on the first floor of the B bldg across
from the gym.
Tuition is due the first of the month, August-May (10months).
Tuition is considered late on the 10th and a $10.00 late fee will be
posted to your account. Please keep you account current as the
tuition payment includes recital costume and recital pictures.
Delinquent account might not have enough funds to purchase the
recital costume. Statements will be mailed to any account that is
past due.
Attendance
If a student must be absent, they may make up their time in
another class in their same age/level class. There is no pro-rating
of tuition if a class is missed. As recital nears, it is especially
important for all students to attend class regularly to ensure that
they are comfortable and confident with their dances.
